Vale Inco's Nickel Smelter Maintenance is on a tight schedule

Vale Inco's Copper Cliff Smelter in Sudbury routinely processes nickel at temperatures approaching 1200 degrees centigrade. But the infrastructure holding the smelter's two furnaces in place must be inspected, and repaired or replaced every 18 months.
